Some Useful Hints * Do not be cheated!!! the Canon BF7 and similar ( as in its time Canon Snappy V ) it is a very "hungry" camera. If this refuses to work, before take the unit to service, first replace the battery for a really fresh ones. We have seen a lot of these back to life after a battery replacement. Do not forget, use alkaline batteries all the time (where those are required). * Never, never pull the film out in your camera, that - depending on the camera- could destroy gears into the winding mechanism or sometimes write errors in memory.
* Digital cameras: overexposed o underexposed photos? We have seen many times the the same problem and solved once the memory card has been replaced for a new one. The worst: shutter not working properly.
* Again from Minolta: No longer repairing X-300/370N; Maxxum 7000i, 8000i; Vectis UC, Vectis SF-1 and more, many more!! (source: SPT Newsletter). * Digital Cameras: Do not leave the camera connected to your computer, do not turn this on when the camera is connected. Connect the camera after having turned on the computer. We have seen many problems due to the latter detail. * Digital Cameras: Do not touch the contacts in the memory cards. If one of these refuses to work, clean contacts with a wet cotton. * Canon Digital EOS-1Ds, 10D, Digital Rebel( 300D) card compatibility: Use only 4GB or smaller CF cards. Also Digital Rebel (300D) can have problems with 4GB Microdrives. (source: SPT Newsletter). * Canon EOS-1D, D30, D60, Mark II N: Use only 2GB or smaller SD cards. Large capacity CF cards are compatible. ( source: SPT Newsletter). * Canon says these models are not FAT32 compatible. SD cards larger than 2GB will not work with any EOS-1D series camera. This includes the recently introduced 4GB SD cards. (source: SPT Newsletter). *Talking about memory cards: Do not format these with a PC, for any reason. * Canon EOS-20D, Digital Rebel XT: Seagate 8GB drive problems (source: SPT Newsletter). * Minolta is out of business: Minolta Lost de lawsuite over AF SLR technology to Honeywell and it cost them their company. The settlement was huge. Minolta then followed this disaster with. "old school" and partenered with another camera company, Konica. This would have been a good solution yesterday but in "digital world" weak manufacturers need to look at software or electronic companies. Finally, Sony bought Minolta. (source: SPT Newsletter). |
